just read EON .. the rise of the Dragoneyes .... by Alison Goodman ... similar to mulan ... women living in a man's world ...
starting one called How it Ends Laura Wiess ... it seems interesting enough ... about 2 women from different generations.... happy reading.

I read the book on "Infidel" author Ayaan Hirsi was interesting to know how a person has inner awaking experience in finding out their true inner self...seeking an identity through one's religion, and finding, violation against human rights . Even though the author at the end considers herself to be an atheists, I think in truer terms of life she has far greater identity in recognizing humanity as truest religion of any mankind. And dedicates her entire life fighting for human rights.

I read a book "Savages",(sorry i forgot the author) that was set in PNG.....and it was about this wealthy american executives & their wives that took a vaction to a hotel in PNG, more like a working vacation. Their company was interested in the mining deals in PNG & they insulted this army leader which in turn overthrew the elected government and murdered all the executives. The wives were lucky enough to escape since they were having a picnic in another side of the island(this place is a taboo to the locals) when the coup took place. The book also potrayed cannibalsim by some of the locals and especially the survival instincts of these wealthy pampered women. An interesting read and sad also.

Just thought to add a lil into our book club...

Why you are drawn to reading the book?

The main character if its fiction describe it in your own words...

What resonates with you in reading a book may it be fiction or non-fiction.....

Lessons you gain or an AHA moment for you!

Hey all forgot to say that I've just finished DAN BROWNS - DEMONS and ANGELS.... the title suits it and no there weren't any Demons in their gruesome form but the villain did potray signs of being possessed I think but never outwardly.... though there is an assassin involved and I would say he was demonic.... and the Angels were the Christians and priests..... Basically the book is about the age old debate between Science and the Church.... mostly the Roman Catholic Church and the big bang theory. The main character a scientist was brought up by a Scientist who was also a priest, and who was able to answer that age old question of how can you create something out of nothing..... Anyways the book goes on to make you appreciate history of religion and science and also of art!!!! I heard names of Galeilio and Raphael (his surname being Santi) and many other famous names and art pieces!!! But also about conspiracy's and hidden truths and of murders and theft and destruction..... it was really good ... recommend to all if haven't read it yet.... My beleif is that God is behind evolution.... not that we came from monkeys but that everyday life is changing!!! I believe that God created Man and Women in his own image. well thats my opinion, there will be heaps others.....Good reading everyone!!!
