The Methodist church delegation that visited the Roko Tui Dreketi should have announced their intentions on the conference themselves, but instead, they used the Marama Bale na Roko Tui Dreketi to do it for them. What a shame! That was really deceitful if that was their intention(Use a lady chief to do the dirty work).
Is there a weakness on the part of the leadership of the church? Can't they just come out and say it themselves?
The Methodist chuch should have decided long ago if they were to have the conference or not. People from all parts of Fiji take months to prepare for this event: buying uniforms, choir practice and fund raising to say the least. Its the last week of July and its still unclear which option the church is taking. Are they going to have the two high profile Ministers stand down? or are we going to continue to pray and hope for some change in Bainimarama's stand on the issue? which is highly unlikely but seems to be what the church is going for silently.
Now that they have tried that, whats next? The people of Fiji better be warned, especially the members of the Methodist church. If someone asks you to jump, have them jump first. Not only that, be sure its safe for you.
People need to rationalize themselves before taking any action. Enough of the blind leading the blind, and following the majority or listening to the loudest way of doing things which the poeple of Fiji are so fond of doing.
