Na KALOU E Vinakata Na Talairawarawa Mai Na Ka 'O Kila!

The Lord said to me,"Do not say,I am only a boy for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and you shall speak whatever I command you." Jeremiah 1:7. Most of the time we give a lot of excuses but God is not as much concerned with our ability as with our availability. God is pleased when we are willing to use what we have to serve regardless of how unskilled we think we are. God knows our limitations and desires only that we are prepared and willing to go where God leads and to do God's…

Good Friday: 4 Powerful Reflections on the Cross

Good Friday: 4 Powerful Reflections on the Cross

by Ray Hollenbach

As followers of Jesus, we need to embrace Good Friday, which is a little bit like saying we need to embrace torture.

From that time on, Jesus began to explain to his…

Na KALOU E Rawa Ni Veisautaka Na Nomu I Tuvatuva Mo Vinaka Kina.

The Master said to the slave,"Go out into the roads and lanes, and compel people to come in so that my house may be filled." Luke 14:23. This experience reminded me of the parable of the great dinner in Luke 14. After the host sent the invitations and received the news that the guests were not coming,he extended the invitation to include people from the roads and lanes. Our dinner became a true feast where those who came truly wanted to be there. And they were fed by the Bread of Life,Jesus…

Na Gauna 'O Tukina E Na Veilecayaki.

Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God'. 2 Chronicles 20:15b. What a best statement realizing that God is on your side. King Jeshoshaphat suddenly learned a great army was coming against him.In alarm,he gathered the people befor the temple and led them in earnest prayer."O God we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us;nor do we know what to do,but our eyes are upon You." Just then the Lord replied,"Do…

Dictator Bainimarama's Forcible Attempt At Unifying Races In Fiji!

By Sai Lealea

The unilateral decision by the unelected and illegal regime to designate the name "Fijian" to refer to all Fiji citizens or nationals, instead of Fiji Islanders, will never be acceptable to Fijians or natives of Fiji.

Since the 19th century, natives of Fiji have been referred to as Fijians and the whole world have also come to adopt it, though accepting confusion over ethnicity and…

Sa Voleka Beka Na I Otioti Ni Gauna?

The end of all things is near. 1Peter 4:7 (NIV).  Every once in a while someone announces publicly that the world will end soon.A few preachers even predict an exact date.People respond to such predictions in various ways:most disregard them;others mock them;some hoard survival supplies or give away their possessions as they await the end. In today's reading, written twenty centuries ago,Peter tells us,"The end of all things is near."Peter encourages us to live here and now.The best ways to…

Sa I Yau Levu Duadua Na Loloma.

In Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us. 2 Corinthians 5:19. The Bible is the inspired word of God and the outcome is what we see in the world today. It teaches LOVE and as Christians we should always honour it. Peter is talking about that we are a chosen people, that God called us out from the darkness into the marvelous light and believe in it and be positive about it. Not only did the…

Sa Vagauna Na Veikakecega E Na Noda Vuravura.

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.A time to born and a time to die,a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted. Ecclesiastes 3:1,2. King Solmon reflects all life,he expresses beautiful poems and events that God has a sovereign design behind all events.Man come and  go but our destination is Eternity.God has given man a desire for eternity and perpetuity;therefore man cannot be satisfied with what is merely temporal.Men are given…

Me Da Lako Mai Vua Na KALOU E Na Yalo E Bibivoro.

The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;a broken and contrite heart,O God,you will not despise. Psalm 51:17.One of the famous scriptures as we come to the Holy Communion, the server declared,"The body of Christ, broken for you." I experience brokenness each time my selfish, sinful nature asserts itself, and I ignore God's instruction. Then other voices-anxiety,self-condemnation,or anger-join the conversation within me,while I struggle to restore confidence in myself with…

When the Pastor’s Wife Suffers in Silent Depression

When the Pastor’s Wife Suffers in Silent Depression

by Cara Croft

Every counselor begins with the question, “So how long have you suffered with depression?” The truth is that I am not sure.

At times it seems like a lifetime. As a child, I was always told that I was melancholy, and that description is true. I was a very quiet child. I tended to sit, listen and…
