I am Tongan but can trace Fijian and Samoan connections. I enjoy learning about Tongan, Samoan and Fijian historical connections and genealogy and have gathered some useful information over the many years.

Thanks for your response. Much appreciated. I am trying to press back my knowledge of the line of descent to Taniela's father's father who doesn't seem to appear in any of the genealogies, even though Taniela was quite a significant figure in Tonga in his day--one of the first two Tongan chief justices according to elisabeth Wood-Ellem and trusted informant to a British parliamenary enquiry into the civil disturbances in Shirley baker's time. Thanks again, Nigel.
long time no talk- i hope u are well--- i was talking with Tulipe the other day...(our auntie tu'utangas eldest daughter-- i believe she lived in nz?) and she was telling me that the real eiki is Alesaga Lamipeti?? maybe she meant in that tongan way she was highly respected or something...and my dad seems to hold Fakafanua very high in his respectometer.... and u know our family...they hardasses to give out respect...lolol matter of fact my dad always comments how Mahe never has to wear taovala around Ma'afu back home....how is your estimation of respect or how they feel towards them?? also i made a friend on here named Tukana a fijian but her maiden name was Ginigini which only a few should have namely us :) so maybe our people lived there?? she also told me bout ur granfather and mine--- thick as thieves and loved each other so much!!!! Moheloa always yelled they say-- and Taloa was quiet lol--- plus they had an older brother who managed some store in Vava'u? Taniela Mahe Pikokivaka was his name and he had a son? so story was at Moheloa's funeral everyone was asking where is Taloa?? and he comes crawling in to the house....he then asked Moheloa to get up! you are the boss tell me what to do?? and then laid on him face to face....all the Vaini people cried-- he died right before i was born so there was no other name for me--- so lets do a Sione Lamipeti genealogy--- what u got? i know i talked ur ear off-- answer when u can brother--- take care and i hope to hear from u soon....
Hey this is Moheloa-- again-- hope all is well and im back on the genealogy kick again--- i got some names and want to ask u about them....okay one of our gmothers was Latai Fale'aka Faiva, daughter of Faiva and Mafi'uli'uli who was the daughter of Fakana'ana'a TT34 and Lupemoetavake.....she was the daughter of Tau'atevalu (4) the great warrior....and a certain Funaki Falefa....was she the daughter of TT33 or no?? also.....u know anything and i mean anything on our gma Alesanga Lamipeti?? thanks for any answers coz i appreciate it--- hope all is well--- btw so u Lasike Tu'uhetoka thru n thru.......how come the title didnt pass to us?? lolol
Malo aupito Tokoua for the friendship. Stay well and prosper. I am enjoying as are you, the historical information coming through. I am also cautious like Wikipedia about 'source required' information. Ofa'atu Toko.
