This was the most important part of our trip down to Fiji......revisiting Natokalau village to see where Tukai Luke and Qei Siteri had spent the rest of their lives (and present our reguregus), and where Amini had spent the best part of his childhood living with them in Natokalau. After seeing Amini in Natokalau, I grew to understand how important this village is to him. His livelihood is strongly linked to this village. A wise man once said, "we need to know where we came from, before we can truly understand where we are headed". And this was that type of a trip.

As soon it was daylight in Natokalau, he would be up and roaming the village, saying his good mornings to everyone and telling them his name, as they couldn't recognize him anymore, but were instantly full of smiles and fond memories when he mentioned his name. They fondly remembered Tukai Luke and Qei Siteri constantly calling out to him when he was a little boy in the village, and they all wished that they were still alive to see Amini returning to Natokalau. I'm sure they would've been so proud of him on his trip back to Natokalau!! This was the trip that needed to take place. :-)
