Malo e lelei Rusi, Thank you very much for your deep vision in creating this awesome social network - YAVUSA TONGA, where we can weave back and forth to find hidden threads to our roots and to the much cherished households we are connected to in Fiji and the world, traced back to Tonga in the most amazing manner. It is giving a kick to many of us - VINAKA!

Rusi, Later on I will share the stories of how my late mother - Salome Lolohea by chance found (not traced) her famili and her Fiji connetions while she as travelling back and forth from Lakeba to Viti Levu :-

1). Roko Kautapola, (Uiha, Ha'apai connection) - tokatoka Nayavutoka of the mataqali Vuanirewa, where my late father hails from;

2). the late Tua Bale Laiekini and the late Tui Ra of Vakano, (the Tui Vakano Fisi connection and his Houma household under Baron Vaea) - a long but historical story which needs to be re-told about the the gift of drua taken to Tonga by the then Tui Ra of Vakano and Tui Ra of Nukunuku, sent to the Tui Tonga, King George Tupou III by the then Tui Nayau and what transpired when they - Tui Ra did not return home;

3). her Sawana relatives especially the couple - Luseane and Tuwai, I remember Tuwai was a policeman and used to work at the provincial office in Tubou in the early 60's. I am hoping that I can find/meet up with their children and grandchildren!

4). the late Tui Moala, Ratu Siaosi survived by his beautiful children

5). the late Maile and Joeli Fotofili, Nawamagi and their late sister Baubau who was married and have children in Vatukarasa, Misiwani is the eldest son, I remember that well.

6). to Waisea and his children in Wailekutu - a big family!

7). to her many relatives in Oneata

I notice many comments about Tomasi's flowers, I make flowers out of paper (and masi) as a hobby here in China and would like to be friends with him but I do not see him? What name does he go by on matavuvale please?

Bula ALL. I believe our reunion has been postponed to next year (2011) so preparation can be done well. Word has gone out to the village elders but we need to set a date, preferably Fiji school holidays so we can all work towards it.

DEEPLY SADDENED WHEN AMI MADE HER EXIT NOVEMBER 16
2009 TO ATTEND TO SEVERAL PROJECTS THAT DEMANDED HER
FULL ATTENTION. MANOA N TUPOU PUTS IT SUCCINCTLY WHEN
HE STATED THAT AMI'S "CONTRIBUTIONS WERE PRICELESS."

WHEN A MEMBER LEAVES OUR WEB-SITE, ALL HIS/HER THREADS,
COMMENTS, ETC, ARE AUTOMATICALLY DELETED FROM THE
SYSTEM. RATHER UNFORTUNATE.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO AMI'S RETURN UPON COMPLETION
OF HER PROJECTS IN MACUATA.

Bula vinaka to everyone. Any update information on our 2010 reunion to be held in Fiji. It seems that there is some communication break down and there is n't any clear road map on the table to be modified & discussed. malo & ofa atu............. Vilimo.
