well for the time being i thing lets juss sit tight and keep our mouth shut, lets juss continue our normal life.let them run our country as long as we stay focus.because the more we talk about this,it will bring no good and for the time being lets pray that god will decide the fate for the future of our beloved country.only thing that we should do is love one another, carry on our daily life and keep smiling.

Here's something a friend sent me that I found to be very true!

22 JUL 2008

Political leaders have failed to clearly recognize and rectify poverty and ethnic tensions in Fiji, according to an academic.

“They have been sleeping on the job and should be blamed,” University of the South Pacific based Dr Wardan Narsey said, while addressing a symposium on Fiji’s economy at the university’s Suva campus today.

“Our political leaders have not been able to focus on issues because our Indian politicians have kept on fighting about renewal of leases. Similarly, the Fijian politicians, instead of making the economy grow, have focused their attention on landowners and telling them that Indians will grab their land.

“So these are reality issues in Fiji but nothing has been done about it and we continue to suffer.”

He adds that study shows 37 per cent of Indo Fijians are poor compared to 34 per cent of indigenous Fijians.

“However the political parties continue to take advantage and ignore this,” he said.

Thanks Raj. In the end, God is no respecter of persons whatever race or creed he belongs to. What God does respect and take heed to is people that are living righteously before Him, not of their own righteousness but the righteousness that comes from God Himself. If the present Interim Government walked righteously before the Lord, I am of the view that the Lord would back it and bless it to the hilt 100%.

But unfortunately from recent media reports on the exhorbitant back pay payouts to the Interim PM of $180,000 as well as large sums paid out to his coup team endorsed by the Interim Finance Minister this is a very unrighteous and evil act of thievery of the highest order. People are losing their jobs, children cannot go to school, the people in Vatukoula have still not been helped and these very unrighteous people accept huge sums of money to fill up their bank accounts. That money could be helping the children of Vatukoula.

A relative of mine who works for the Marine dept has 6 children. He used to receive $150.00 a week They have had their pay reduced and he now receives $70 a week in wages. He can no longer afford to live in Suva or take care of his families growing needs. He is relocating back to the village! This is absurd!

Fiji is crying and God has heard the cry.....their days are numbered.

It is funny how people that live outside Fiji condones this raping of our democratic right to choose the government that we want to lead us and that should it not work out, we would like to exercise that right again through the ballot boxes!!

This IG thinks that the charter will be the perfect answer to all our problems - I say that it is not. You cannot change ingrained thinking and behavior with a piece of paper already drafted and then taken around to the people to endorse because this is what happened here!!!

And no matter what we the citizens of this nation think, it does not count because their mind is already made up. All this going ons is just a show - they already have plotted their course and nothing we say will change it....

Change I believe has to come from grass-root level, from within the family units. Politicians do not change this - we as ordinary citizens with families and children we institute change in our doctrines, in our bringing up our children as this is what they carry with them all their lives.

The classic case of the two children who were switched at birth at the Labasa hospital where an Indian child is now growing up in a Fijian home and a Fijian child is now growing up in the Indian family's home - the discrimination that both children have endured shows that both races are equally guilty of racists sentiments. Whilst the Indian child is still at school, the Fijian child has stopped going to school because his teachers discriminates him, picks on him, taunts him with cruel words! This case was highlighted in the papers - yet no one seemed to take any notice of the message that this incident portrays! There was no major hue or outcry from the human rights quarter or concerned organizations - none!!! And these are teachers who we entrust the care of our children to!!! We seem to accept that it is so - so how can a piece of paper overcome this feeling of distrust or narrow the great divide that separates us??? I say that the family unit itself has a huge role to play in here, not politicians, not our chiefs - no one but ourselves!!!

Families struggle and when I say struggle - I MEAN STRUGGLE!!! to put food on the table and to keep their kids in school!! Take home pay remains the same or has decreased yet the cost of basic food items is so high...people have lost their jobs, there are more beggars on the street, we have more people knocking on our office doors with permits requesting monetary assistance to buy groceries and food items -we did use to receive visits from people seeking financial assistance for overseas medical treatments, but those numbers are insignificant compared to those who need money to buy groceries and food items...

This illegal regime tells us one thing and does exactly the opposite - I suppose we have become so used to their inconsistencies!!! Corruption - is a big act to wipe out since it exists everywhere. The IG thinks that it can create a utopia - they cannot!!!

How can one justify the payout of almost $190 grand for 30 years unpaid leave and backdated at the Interim PM's current salary structure and undisclosed sums to the 40 military officers who also had the same privilege?? This is nothing short of daylight robbery!!! There is a shortage of drugs in our hospitals and medical centers around the country and this money would have been better utilized there!!!

How can they justify receiving high salaries for the posts that they were not voted into when they say that they joined the military regime to move this country forward - they are just a bunch of unemployed opportunists who are living free off the back of taxpayers of this nation!!! If they were serious about their intentions, they would have agreed to receive an allowance of say F$10,000 or F$15,000 - almost 2/3rds of the population live on a lower salary than that per year and make do and our Interim Finance Minister has the gall to address the nation and tells us to try and get by whilst he receives a fat paycheck every other fortnight - get out!!!

For someone who was a victim of a coup, MPC sure has made a 360 degrees turn and now says that the coup of 2006 is good for this country whilst we with some intelligence disagree!!! A coup is never good!!!

We should have an election as the grass-root level earners of this country will not be able to hold out much longer. Seek change through a legal government not through the barrel of a gun because somewhere down the line, someone else will decide to stage a coup for all sorts of reasons!! We do not need it anymore!!!

And it would be really great if those who enjoy the democratic freedom of the countries they live in extend to us the same courtesy to allow us to decide for ourselves whether the government of our choice is good or not and allow us the same freedom to speak through the ballot.

Hi Raj I totaly agreed with you young man...no coup is a good coup but if you sensed back before the 87 coup then you'll realised how important our military is.....indo fijian were taking all government post and fijians are running around like a chicken with no head try to grab on to something that about to slip away, the taukei movement was formed with their mission to distabilize the running government of 99% indo fijian....Thanks God he is watching us......Our military step up with all information provided from their intelligent team and there was no other option then to carry out the coup.....imagen if we dont have the military.(have you watch that movie''HOTEL RAWONDER'') fiji could have been a killing ground.Raj we need to think deeper,we are lucky that we have a military that stay nutral to protect our loyal citizen.
Same thing to the current IG,they deposted the elected goverment based on discrimination and corruption and fijian in particular didn't realized that because we benefit more on that favoured leadership and I think we must proud of our military for being strong in their decision and steadinous to try to overcome the very difficult situation we are in today.
All we need to do is stay foccus hand in hand to rebuilt our nation that onece we call ''THE WAY THE WORLD SHOULD BE'' and Im with you young man .....I hate coup and coup has a reason, stay calm and nutral we need your carering hand so we can move foward....GOD BLESS OUR FIJI.
