Fiji's Family Network
CALIFORNIA, USA (Wednesday, 09 November 2011)
Ni sa bula vinaka DFFM USA Members and Supporters! This is another reminder from your organization.
Your executives at the Democracy and Freedom for Fiji Movement (DFFM) USA are putting together a wonderful program for this Saturday's meeting, which is called a Brainstorm Session.
DFFM USA Secretary Mrs TITILIA NAITINI reports that there will be lots of group work involved so that we can gauge your opinion, listen to your ideas and know what your views are for the long-term empowerment of our organization and its members, as we do our work in the US.
Mrs Naitini and Mr PIO ROKOSUKA are the Program Organizers of the Brainstorm Session, and they have put the following together. Please come prepared to share everything you believe we must pinpoint in this brainstorm session, for the kind of work we do in order to keep the momentum in our fight for the restoration of democracy in Fiji.
There will be five groups of discussion forums to adopt various resolutions on critical topics at hand. Please arrive on time (2: 00 p.m. NO FIJIAN TIME KEREKERE) so that we can start splitting into the five groups after the formalities.
Find your strength as you join the discussions. Your input and views will be highly valued. Make them realistic and to the point.
The Discussion Groups will involve five major areas, as shared by Mrs NAITINI in her recent posting on our Facebook Page. They are pretty much straight-forward.
We will exhaust all topics in our Group Discussions in order to pinpoint specific target areas. You are then required to report back from the Discussion Groups.
At the break, we will conduct a Membership Drive for DFFM USA. It has been resolved that all members will pay a $50 annual levy/subscription/membership fee to the organization. Please come with your $50 this Saturday.
A final write-up of what we have come up with will occur as soon as our break is over.
*** Please note there are plans for a peaceful protest march (unless otherwise advised by the executives) at a selected section of the Flamingo Resort & Spa on Saturday. Our Treasurer Mr NACA ROGOIMURI will be updating us on this aspect.
*** There will also be pro-democracy T-shirts with the words "USA for Democracy in Fiji" and RKSOB USA for Democracy sold at $40 by enthusiastic member Mr PHIL RAIYAWA. He will also be selling food parcels. We will give you what it is exactly he will sell when he gets back to us on this.
That's it. Please invite friends and family. Remember, our people in Fiji CANNOT do this and we are doing this on their behalf. We have to have the full restoration of democracy in Fiji because we have failed badly under the current regime when it comes to public and foreign policies; two critial issues that involve a nation.

"Few men are willing to brave the disapproval of their fellows, the censure of their colleagues,
the wrath of their society. Moral courage is a rarer commodity than bravery in battle or great intelligence. Yet it is the one essential, vital quality for those who seek to change a
world which yields most painfully to change."
-- Robert F. Kennedy 1966 Speech, US Democratic Politician
Well done guys and good luck with the meeting.
Don't forget to lobby the President before he leaves for Australia, as it is expected that he will be announcing the establishment of a joint Marine Base in Darwin. What could mean for Fiji, is anyone's guess !
Wish I could attend !
" All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. "
We need to find a way to wake up the average Fijian.
We need to interpret the benefits of Democracy and perhaps compare it with Traditional Leadership, ideas and concepts, so Fijians who really have not had a chance to experience it totally due to the many coups since Fiji's Independence, begin to see just what they are missing out on and how much in real terms, each coup has cost Fijians and their Communities and Societies.
Often comparisons are made, for the sake of propaganda, with the Colonial English, yet this is replaced by some twisted concept, which in reality, simply revolves around power, money and control of the masses.
It seems to me and it has been said by someone on matavuvale, that fijians have a different view of Democracy.
I feel that it needs to be explained to the masses more and in such a way, as they can understand just how it should work and why it is designed to work in the way that it is.
One could well say the same of Fiji :-
A form of Winston Churchill's quotation, made in a radio broadcast in October 1939:
"I cannot forecast to you the action of Russia. It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma; but perhaps there is a key. That key is Russian national interest."
I get the feeling that some in and from outside of Fiji, have used to their own advantage, the fact that some in Fiji either don't trust or don't understand the concept of a Democracy in Fiji and that this mistrust etc. is being whipped up to maintain support against it.
Little do the masses seem to realise, that their Culture, Traditions, Economy, Communities, Society and now their Land, is slowly being taken over by a handful of dishonest, unloyal, murdering, evil thugs, hell bent on total domination over all aspects of life in Fiji, and it's getting worse.
If your looking for ideas, how about stopping remittances, this is the only way Fijians in Fiji will know the realities of what is going on under their own noses, and the real losses which are being incurred !
This will result in them waking up from their slumber to the reality that is this Oppressive Regime and force them to oppose it, wherein currently, they seem to choose to ignore what is going on, while friends and family foot the bill for the thefts of Frank Bainimarama and Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum.
The Tourism Sector should be brought to its knees and Unions in America and elsewhere throughout the World, should be lobbied by interested parties and action between Unions in different Countries, coordinated in their efforts to decimate a speedy destruction of Fiji's tourism Sector.
Short term pain for long term gain and Fijians should not be influenced by those who say it will only harm the people.
This is clearly propaganda and something Owners of Resorts, Share Holders, Business Operators and the Regime itself, would suggest in order to frighten people into not taking action.
Further Sanctions which would have far reaching and immediate effect on the Regime and its income base, should be taken now and governments and Organisations lobbied to implement them.
The Indian and Chinese Governments should be challenged along Official channels, to stop interfering, to stop lending money which they know Fiji can't afford to repay.
The elephant in the room is, china's intentions in the Pacific and its increasing influence in the Region.
People world wide need to begin calling a spade a spade and admit that the People's Republic of China is run by a bunch of Dictatorial Thugs who continue to oppress their own people and have no allegiance to anyone, but their own bank accounts.
China's Economy while growing, is not stable and they are experiencing increased instability amongst their own people and increased protests at the fact that they don't have a Democratic Government.
One could suggest that where china is moving toward Democracy, Fijians are moving toward Dictatorship and anarchy and poverty, for the sake of a handful of thugs and murderers who only have their own interests at heart..
Let's stop pussy footing around, let's stop being Traditional and let's get on with the task of bring all those responsible, to Justice.
The option is too demoralising to contemplate.
Lobby the Government in the U.S. to freeze the Bank Accounts of everyone in the Regime !
I hoper one of you is taking notes for your meeting.
