all christians live to glorify the Lord, thus simply greeting someone in the name of the Lord signifies that you owe your very existence to him and him alone. Why the sarcasm?

They are barely acknowleding the Lord. We do not have to read too much into it. If i were to choose between Hello and Praise the Lord, i'd choose the later. Why not? Hello-gives the impression you're from another planet.

Its does not mean they state this phrase as part of every sentence they utter. Just when they are receiving the phone.

..all we need to day in reply is Amen!

...if they are comfortable with it, then thumps up from me.

And what is one supposed to say when/if the cop reading you your rights says "praise the lord, you are under arrest, anything you say can and will be used against you". I don't know about anybody else but I would be compelled to acknowledge the "praise the Lord" part by saying "Amen". Funny because it means that a lawbreaker is expected to rejoice at being arrested so much so that they would be likely to recommit offence from the sheer joy of the arrest procedure.

I wonder if that is a bad thing to say (as to the question)
