OFFICERS CAUGHT REDHANDED

Police have actual photographs of its own officers carrying out drug deals, and also of the vehicles they use to sell marijuana to users and sellers.
All these evidence are part of the report that was compiled by a special unit set up by the Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni, to investigate his officers allegedly involved in drug trafficking.

Police spokeswoman Ema Dimila says no officer has been suspended as yet but investigations is already underway.

“The evidence I will not be able to elaborate precisely what’s in the report although there are photographs taken of the vehicles used and the actual issues taking place trafficking etc. These are things that are with the Commissioner that has been tendered in the report and I know a lot of the members of the public are talking about how credible police officers are with these kinds of issues going on. I must remind the public that this has been taking place for a long, long time in the force and it could not only be in the Drug Unit, it could also be in other avenues as well.”

Dimila adds this is part of the Police efforts to rid corruption from within the Force.

I have few questions ..
1) I wonder if the police team that took those pictures has prior knowledge of the business that was going on?
2) If so? .. why didn’t an officer or NCO summoned the officer and caution him regarding his unlawful act?
3) I wonder if the other party (drug receiver) was also identified and taken to task?
4) Did the drugs were ceased and taken to the laboratory for test?

I believed this is not the first case where police officers involved in such activities .. and considering the current economic situation in Fiji this wouldn’t come as a surprise!!!...... but I think it will be un fair to generalize this event with the other members, there’re more police officers who are performing their duties honestly and professionally.; ▶ Reply to This
