You are invited to share and pen your ideas, views or opinions that will facilitate/assist our country back to democracy. All positive and/or negative ideas and comments to steer us back to the road of democracy are welcome.

Whichever way one looks at our current situation back home, democracy has been completely raped. The rape of democracy in Fiji is a virtual degradation of the populus of Fiji. Their human rights are being deprived:

1. the right to decide their government;
2. who they want to represent them;
3. their right to free assembly;
4. free protest;
5. free to organise into groups so that they can talk about what is pertinent to their daily lives;
6. protest on issues they do not agree with....with no fear of intimidation from anybody.

With this military regime in place, the concept of freedom per the Constitution is a total myth!

And, we, the people of Fiji need to come together and be vehement about our total disagreement with the military regime. So give us liberty or death! The reality of the issue is that democracy in Fiji has been raped...from top to bottom...left to right....inside and out and vice versa!

Here we have a military regime that talks about freedom to the people and yet the very same military regime randomly arrest people, torture them, inflict unnecessary harrassment and emotional stress to those that seem a threat to them. The military regime talks about racial unity.......the communal concept of togetherness and yet Fiji is far more racially divided today than it ever was.

The so-called advisors, viz-a-viz, John Samy, these are rejects from their adopted countries and yet they are being rewarded with exuberant amount(s) of money by these rogue military regime who have no idea what they are doing. Lying to the international community does not augur well with this interim government and yet the interim Prime Minister continuously talks with a forked tongue when addressing international issues. The ministers talk about internal securities as if Fiji is going to be invaded.

All around it is clearly seen that the economy is in tatters and the Constitution is just a useless piece of paper. The rule of law is as what the military regime wants it to be.

The above are just some of my views (from a pro-democracy viewpoint). But, do not let that deter you from penning your comments if you share otherwise.

So, let us come together and voice our views/comments, whether they be for or against the military regime and have a very healthy discussion here so that in the end we can factually understand what our role is, what we need to do and how we can come up with ideas to help restore democracy back in our beloved Fiji!

Please feel free to write what you like or dislike about the military regime. Be sincere and honest about your thoughts, without getting personal or spiteful.

Kindly note, this "topic" will expire as soon as we have an election.

I think that this illegal govt. need to study the concept of society's social structures,its functions and out comes.Just as the poor need to prop up the rich so does crime to make society real.A crime free society is an Utopian approach that has never been proved possible by the study of society and its structures. Crime Free Fiji is just wishful thinking.
But I think the most absurd point here is that when we consider the birth and formation of this illegal govt, it was done through criminal acts.Now Fiji crime Free society will be supervised by criminals themselves. This is not even a catch 22 scenario but rather the Edipus complex when you consider the Illegal PM is Commander Military and his 2IC is Police Commish.

Suli,

I must congratulate the illegal regime, and in this case the Fiji Police Force, for their innovative ideas in fighting crimes.

We were once entertained by the "dancing policemen" masquarading as crime fighters. Now we have another silly idea dubbed, "crime free," which will fade and thrown away when they realise it's stupidity.

How can a country whose leaders are the biggest law breakers ever thought of "crime free!"

The people must be laughing in silence...if not, they deserve the kind of government they have.

Ni qai "crime free" tiko!

Like your country MM...run by ex-convict since you know when

The leaders of Australia Vula are far better than the criminals that are running Fiji now.At least those are now the decendants of what were convicts then and have turned the continent into something that Fiji will never amount too. Infact Vula your problem is that your mouth babbles off nothing and it shows in what you write.But can we really credit that with anything of substance from your brain or the dry sun of the desert is too much for you.

Yeah brave men and women who jumped on the back pf females, even one suspected of being pregnant, on Xmas Eve 2006 or this

After 4pm that day Selesitino was seen taken out of CPS along Pratt Street in an army van by 4 – 5 soldiers. He was on floor of the van and the bystanders could and hear swearing, hitting with rifle butts and kicking at the back of the tray. Around midnight on 2.11.2000 he was taken to the mortuary. Due to the curfew no one could go out that night. The next morning the wife went and identified the deceased at the hospital. Post mortem was conducted on 8th November 2000.of death was found to be “multiple blunt force injuries including head injuries with sub-dural haemorrage.” The deceased body had a number of recent injuries.
Those are established truths about the late Kalounivale.
The unknown truth is who was responsible for the injuries that caused the death.
Mr Kalounivale died from injuries sustained while in camp and this is an established truth.
According to the post mortem report, the deceased arrived at the mortuary wrapped in bloodstained hospital sheets.
The doctor said – “I was told that a number of patients had arrived at hospital unclothed. I asked for the whereabouts of the deceased clothes.”
According to the doctor the deceased was wearing only a light aqua-coloured underpants.

and how about this story lifted from the Auditor Generals Report of 2005:

(sic)

Further personal advances totally $62,000 were made to these officers

Col Ioane Naivalurua with $5,000,

Col Esala Teleni, $10,000,

Col Pita Driti,$6000

Col Ului Mara, $10,000

Lt Colonal Mosese Tikoitoga, $3000

Capt Francis Kean,$15,000, Capt Mason Smith $2000, Major Leweni, $2500, Maj Pio Tikoduadua, $4000.The balance of $4500 were advances to two naval warrant officers and three army sergeant, recorded only as “Internal operatives” No.1,2,3 and 4 to the sum of $900 each.

Close to $290,000 has been drawn but remains unaccounted and unrecorded!

On proper accounting procedures, these per diem allowances and advances were inappropriately approved by the commander instead of the chief accountant as required under Finance Instructions 207 for details of payments............................

and on and on and on.................

Justin,

I am told by a very reliable source ( one of Leweni's former boss) that Mr Leweni is one of the best crawler in the Fiji armed force today.

His sudden rise in the Army without matriculation testify to the fact that if you are stupid; use that stupidity to your advantage. Leweni used the old adage, " Be wise on your knees!" It is simple and the best way to climb the ladder without worrying about studying or learning the ropes. And if your boss needs a dog, you are "Set tu o Viti!," to borrow a slang from Bai's many supporters.

However, Leweni is not the only guilty party. Those who accede to his kow-towing are just as guilty, and it show the kind of leaders they are.

A story worth remembering while on this subjecy is that of Samuel's delimma in choosing a King for Israel after the disqulification of King Saul. This is The Lord's advise to Samuel: " Do not consider his appearance (the would be King) or his height...The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man look at the outward appearence, but the Lord looks at the heart" (I Samuel 16:7).

Leweni is being used because he loves to be kicked around by those who look only on the outside (crawlers) instead of what the man really is.

The purpose of any Government is to look after the welfare of the peple it governs and to do what the people want.This Regime by its name alone and the process by which it got into power is aginst all rationale of what a govt is in the democratic process. They are going against every essence of what a govt. is supposed to be to the people. Instead of giving freedom it is taking it away, instead of allowing human rights it is restricting it.Instead of giving free will to the people it is forcing the people to follow their doctrines.
This illegal regime does not allow free speech, does not allow free press,does not even allow opposition to it.To make it worse this illegal regime is holding the people of Fiji hostage using the guns of the military. The very guns that are supposed to protect the people from outside invasion are the ones pointed at their head to intimidated them into blindly following the Dictator of Fii.This is not the way for a Govt. to run a country.

The merits of Tabetabe and the masipoloist mentality is what got Leweni his promotions.The Unilateral, Bilateral or the Trilateral dialogues that the illegal PM talks about is beyound Leweni because the only thing that Leweni knows i the d,r,m,f,s,l,t,d to be changed into staff notation in music and blow it on a trumpet. That is Leweni.Other than that Leweni is nothing Sam T.
