You are invited to share and pen your ideas, views or opinions that will facilitate/assist our country back to democracy. All positive and/or negative ideas and comments to steer us back to the road of democracy are welcome.

Whichever way one looks at our current situation back home, democracy has been completely raped. The rape of democracy in Fiji is a virtual degradation of the populus of Fiji. Their human rights are being deprived:

1. the right to decide their government;
2. who they want to represent them;
3. their right to free assembly;
4. free protest;
5. free to organise into groups so that they can talk about what is pertinent to their daily lives;
6. protest on issues they do not agree with....with no fear of intimidation from anybody.

With this military regime in place, the concept of freedom per the Constitution is a total myth!

And, we, the people of Fiji need to come together and be vehement about our total disagreement with the military regime. So give us liberty or death! The reality of the issue is that democracy in Fiji has been raped...from top to bottom...left to right....inside and out and vice versa!

Here we have a military regime that talks about freedom to the people and yet the very same military regime randomly arrest people, torture them, inflict unnecessary harrassment and emotional stress to those that seem a threat to them. The military regime talks about racial unity.......the communal concept of togetherness and yet Fiji is far more racially divided today than it ever was.

The so-called advisors, viz-a-viz, John Samy, these are rejects from their adopted countries and yet they are being rewarded with exuberant amount(s) of money by these rogue military regime who have no idea what they are doing. Lying to the international community does not augur well with this interim government and yet the interim Prime Minister continuously talks with a forked tongue when addressing international issues. The ministers talk about internal securities as if Fiji is going to be invaded.

All around it is clearly seen that the economy is in tatters and the Constitution is just a useless piece of paper. The rule of law is as what the military regime wants it to be.

The above are just some of my views (from a pro-democracy viewpoint). But, do not let that deter you from penning your comments if you share otherwise.

So, let us come together and voice our views/comments, whether they be for or against the military regime and have a very healthy discussion here so that in the end we can factually understand what our role is, what we need to do and how we can come up with ideas to help restore democracy back in our beloved Fiji!

Please feel free to write what you like or dislike about the military regime. Be sincere and honest about your thoughts, without getting personal or spiteful.

Kindly note, this "topic" will expire as soon as we have an election.

@Tiko..Kua ni o via kauta mai na yacai Butadroka cause he was a man of principle..A man who always advocate that the Fijian race should be paramount in the leadership hierachy in Fiji.. Butadroka played the political game in the highest level and yet he never played or had a role in the illegal removal of any elected government like what you and the military are fond of doing..By the way the boat you guys are rockin.....it has a hole on the bottom which is fast sinking boy, very soon people will drown under your watch.
We can only move forward if your leader and those hangers on should be taken to task for commiting treason, murder, sedition etc..etc...

Bula vinaka Suli,

I noticed your question on Mike’s blog on the National Dialogue Forum (NDF).

This is all a “set up”. Deposed Prime Minster Laisenia Qarase called it “Na Mata Meke” at the peoples’ expenses. Police Commissioner Hughes described it in 2006 as a “Smoke Screen”. This “show” and culture of the Illegal Interim Regime (IIR) is a function of their style. They will select anyone they want to be Chairperson as well as the members “who show interest to attend” with all their conditions of that interest.

The IIR is playing God.

What is all this “show” for as the 1997 Constitution had the vision, structure and processes in place to address concerns of a multiethnic society, via the Multi-Party Cabinet (MPC). This was inclusive and representative and to say that people are not to represent political organizations based on communal interest is like having an “elephant in the room” and no one will discuss it.

The elephant is Voreqe Bainimarama (VB) using the peoples’ money and power to avoid justice being served on him for his active participation in both the 2000 and 2006 coups.

As I have always said the greed for power, money and status, displayed by the treasonous planners of the coups (bowing to Satan who intimidates and seduces the physical spirit/wants of the world) reminds me of King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream that was interpreted by Daniel (Daniel 1-5). The dream image head was of gold, its chest and arms were of silver, and its belly and thighs were of bronze, pair of legs of iron and feet partly of iron and partly of clay.

The two most common understanding of the interpretation of these dreams are that they represent 4 successive kingdoms (the Babylonian, Medo-Persian, Grecian and Roman) or four successive reigns (Kings over one kingdom – Babylon: the reigns of Nebuchadnezzar through to Nabonidus)

Clearly, however, the image represents governments over whom God has ultimate sovereignty. Their identity before God’s power is that they are frail: they have feet of clay that does not mix with any of the other metals. God alone is the ultimate Sovereign of history both in Daniel’s day and throughout to this 21st century, market information civilization age or what VB and his illegal Multi Minister AG advisor, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum (ASK) call the digital age. It is the digital age that will be their downfall, where its function has decentralized structures and empowered the people as customers to be served in "win-win" relationships.

Furthermore, the "zero-sum-game" or IIR "win-lose" and "set up" culture, will tail-spin their downfall, already predicted in the Holy Book, when they removed the anointed (the reason for swearing on the Bible to serve the people NOT the President), legally elected government and abrogated the people’s Constitution (Romans 13: 1-7).

Whatever God has sanctified is not to be profaned (1 Samuel 24:10).

In this regard, thank you President DFFM (USA Chapter), Loruama Tawawili for your vision and comments and all the supporters of the Truth Commission and Democracy for Fiji Now.

Dr. Mere Tuisalalo Samisoni legally elected SDL Member of Parliament for Lami Open Constituency (deposed 2006).

Dr Samisoni,

Yes, you are very correct in your description of a roadshow that has gone wrong displaying all the signs of mismanagement of everything from funds to human emotions displaying their inability to govern and exposing their - as Qarase described - "mata ni meke".

Col. Baledrokadroka's speech in Sydney on the weekend could have been a spear of truth that would have pierced a man's devious mind to determine a recourse. The "sheath the sword" term - he provided with analysis of much bigger armies which have taken over government just to see that what they had to bring to a country's economy was restricted to mlitary institutionalism - so the best thing to do was to withdraw to the barracks and let the politicians run the country.

Bainimarama, in my view is a man who would not succumb or listen to constructive critisism, he doesn't allow academics like yourself, Dr. Narsey or Professor Brij Lal to provide him with analystic diagnosis of any form that would have been viewed by others as a directive. He doesn't know that it is not only your right to do this - it is also your obligation as academics to asses and weigh up the options after which you could pre-determine the outcomes of each scenario based on your vast collection of data.

Dr. Samisoni, I don't want to sound enthusiastic, but I think that Bainimarama is looking for an exit plan to be provided by the Fijian people - as he - in the past three months has exposed a sequence of judgements serried in a capsule labelled "I need help". I won't go into detail of my predictions, but it looks like he has run out of options and ideas - which is evident in the PER, media censorship and an overall show of insecurity. I mean - when a man takes on eight portfolios - that is absurd as much as it is a giveaway.

Greed and power as you have rightly stated are the clear motivation of all these, and the fear of prosecution has seen Bainimarama get imbued in his plethora of lies making his original reasons for overthrowing Qarase's government evaporate as if he didn't even mention it.

Isn't it ironic and bizzare that he has now favoured the qoliqoli bill he prosecuted you for ? Na wekaqu - maybe you should offer him the other bill he rejected - it might be what he is waiting for. If someone mentions the word reconciliaton to him - who knows, it might bring a smile on his face and give him amnesia at the same time forgetting that what he snubbed has now come full circle to lend him a lifeline.

As for the chairperson, I am sure Sada Reddy, John Prasad, Khaiyum or the Shameem sisters will be providing him with names - so it will be a waste of time to even try to facilitate the request.

Lastly, he professes to be a Christian, but what you have written above, escapes him and I only hope that if he does chose to be a Nationalist like he proclaimed - then in synchronous humility, initiate multi-lateral talks and "sheath the sword"

Quack.

As we all know Bainimarama has no intension for any election whatsoever.I agree with you that he is looking for an exit plan. This will only happen through the Chiefs and the people of Fiji.
Dead set giveaway Quack...give the country back to the people of Fiji which they rightly own and return to the barracks Voreqe.

Power to the People!!
