You are invited to share and pen your ideas, views or opinions that will facilitate/assist our country back to democracy. All positive and/or negative ideas and comments to steer us back to the road of democracy are welcome.

Whichever way one looks at our current situation back home, democracy has been completely raped. The rape of democracy in Fiji is a virtual degradation of the populus of Fiji. Their human rights are being deprived:

1. the right to decide their government;
2. who they want to represent them;
3. their right to free assembly;
4. free protest;
5. free to organise into groups so that they can talk about what is pertinent to their daily lives;
6. protest on issues they do not agree with....with no fear of intimidation from anybody.

With this military regime in place, the concept of freedom per the Constitution is a total myth!

And, we, the people of Fiji need to come together and be vehement about our total disagreement with the military regime. So give us liberty or death! The reality of the issue is that democracy in Fiji has been raped...from top to bottom...left to right....inside and out and vice versa!

Here we have a military regime that talks about freedom to the people and yet the very same military regime randomly arrest people, torture them, inflict unnecessary harrassment and emotional stress to those that seem a threat to them. The military regime talks about racial unity.......the communal concept of togetherness and yet Fiji is far more racially divided today than it ever was.

The so-called advisors, viz-a-viz, John Samy, these are rejects from their adopted countries and yet they are being rewarded with exuberant amount(s) of money by these rogue military regime who have no idea what they are doing. Lying to the international community does not augur well with this interim government and yet the interim Prime Minister continuously talks with a forked tongue when addressing international issues. The ministers talk about internal securities as if Fiji is going to be invaded.

All around it is clearly seen that the economy is in tatters and the Constitution is just a useless piece of paper. The rule of law is as what the military regime wants it to be.

The above are just some of my views (from a pro-democracy viewpoint). But, do not let that deter you from penning your comments if you share otherwise.

So, let us come together and voice our views/comments, whether they be for or against the military regime and have a very healthy discussion here so that in the end we can factually understand what our role is, what we need to do and how we can come up with ideas to help restore democracy back in our beloved Fiji!

Please feel free to write what you like or dislike about the military regime. Be sincere and honest about your thoughts, without getting personal or spiteful.

Kindly note, this "topic" will expire as soon as we have an election.

You are damn right but the fear campaign backfired. Several vehicles with FijiFirst advertisements had their windscreen smashed, one FijiFirst supporter's vehicle was sprayed with the words "SODELPA RULES" at Lautoka, another 12 cars belonging to FijiFirst supporters had their windows and windscreen smashed at Waituri in Nausori a few days before the election.

So the fear campaign did backfire to some.

@Semi K Meo,

Kai, kua so ni vakalusia nomuni icegu ....

Eda sa kila kece na dina na lewei Viti ena qito duka ni Veidigidigi qo. The fact remains the same that no dictator in history has lost an election as they know all the tricks of the trade on how to rig and win an election.

There was nothing wrong with the old communal voting system used in the past. But FFP feared that the Fijian voters over the age of 21 will vote against them. That was why this One-man-one-vote system was used and they knew it will work in their favour, and it did!

Having an election is their way in back into our global community for they know they cannot function in isolation with their looted filthy riches.

Everyone knows they were and are still helping themselves to our money in the Treasury. Why did Mahend Chaudry resigned as Minister of Finance then? He knew that FB's unclaimed Outstanding Leave Allowance back-dated to 1975 was nothing less than bullshit! FB ( through M.Chaudry) paid himself off with $187,000 at the same time poor people were looking for jobs!

So, Chaudry didn't wanna be part of this dirty business. Besides any right thinking Christian like Bainimarama wouldn't dare to do this because it's a sin! He could have changed his mind and advised Chaudry it's wrong. But knowing the kind of leader he is, enough is not enough .....

Oh yes! Most Indian voters too just didn't wanna vote for FLP because Mahend Chaudry is still part of it. Indians were scared if FFP lost. The scenario has it that the Military might stage another coup to avoid big Investigations regarding all those who died or murdered under their brutal military rule.

The Army could easily do that as they were the cowards 'owning' the only available weapons in the country. (  LOL! The very weapons they were scared to use in Golan Heights!)

Another notable fact was the disgruntle Indians local/ and overseas who are still asking about all the money Mahend Chaudry pocketed after the Year 2000 Civilian Coup. Maybe that was the reason why Indian voters went in favour of FFP?

And for SODELPA, some Fijian Voters were still mad with L.Qarase's shitty involvement with the Fijan Holding and Freehold Land racketeering fuck-ups. Maybe that was why they voted otherwise.

Alright alright, FFP has won the election with their one-sided Constitution that has guaranteed the Immunity clause that will save their asses from long prison terms.

And....the facts remain the same that the absence of the Auditor General's Financial Reports since 2006 are still stuck in all FFP Assholes even after this election. So for 4 years they won't be able to get a successful enemas or suppositories to remove this shit stuck in their asses.

This issue among other shits will be tabled in Parliament anytime soon. We are paying Parliamentarians with our taxes to do their job ( No more bullshit can be tolerated).

And ...all the freebies available in preparations for this past election will be suspended as money will soon be running out for the operation of govt expenditures in development plan. Priority now is the payment of all loans both local and overseas ' Dinau Places' including the loan that QATAR paid off to Al Nusra to free our soldiers who shouldn't have gone there in the first place.

And ...Fijian parents will work extra harder as from now on as this govt has abolished the Ministry of Fijian Affairs Scholarship quota. A kick in the rear for us, the Indigenous owners of the Land.

I had only hoped for Hon FB and Hon Ai-ass to read the memoir of Franklin D.Roosevelt the Wartime President of USA. They should be able to learn a lot on how good leadership is done in the right way. And NOT ...." FIJI, THE WAY THE WORLD SHOULDN'T BE !"

President Roosevelt defended and understood the plight of the poor, went against the powerful Rich who had successfully controlled the US Supreme Court to rule in their favour. He doubled the Income of the United States and cut Unemployment in half. Then he was instrumental in the defeat of Germany in WW2.

Now I called that Good governance through good leadership! He was a good example of a born leader, the type of leader Fiji is crying for ....NOW!

God bless the poor people of Fiji (Not the rich!)

@ Semi K Meo,

Kai ...TuSemi, only 41% of Indigenous Fijian voters went to FFP. And...and ...you know what?   80% of all Indo-Fijian voters went to FFP.

So Bainimarama is the new PM only for Indians than his Kawa iTaukei, in reality! Qo na qito duka ni tamata kaisi qo, o Khaiyum.

And what of the 36,000 votes that wasn't worth anything?  Pretty damned smart hey?

We have been robbed of our Indigenous Rights folks!

I think you are trying to be God. If God is really the almighty and he controls everything that happens in the world, then why is it difficult to accept that it is very much God's will for Bainimarama to clean-sweep all opponents in this election.

Please stop trying to play God but accept what he has provided for us. God knows what he is doing not you.

Mr Gaunavinaka, I am simply stating that what choice do we have now, the people have made their choice or am I a sour grape

How you interpret you bible is your interpretation, not God's so please stop trying to be God. You can believe what you want, but if God did not permit Bainimarama to win then he would have never won. But he wins clearly.

The complains raised by other political parties were all rubbish. First they show a picture of a car alleged to be carrying unsecured ballot papers, later it was found out that the car was leased to officers of the Election Office and the papers they were carrying were infact signed contracts of officers hired by the Election office.

Then they said they will lodge other evidences to the Election Commission by 5pm. The election Commission waited until 8pm then they realise that they have given a letter addressed to the Chairman of the Election commission to the media showing some alleged evidences without giving it to the chairman of the commission himself....

They lie here and lied there. They keep lying everywhere and they are now a luaghing stock even by those who once supported SODELPA before the election.

Lies are falsified statement instigated by a person or group of people to deceive the listener. The person or people telling the lie usually benefit from the lie because they know it is not true, and while those who listen may believe it, those telling the lie don’t.

But in the case of SODELPA, it is the other way around. They start believing in their own lies and later found themselves becoming the victim of it.

Dr. Steven Ratuva, an independent political analyst, explained clearly on TV before the election counting began that SODELPA needs to win more than 83% of iTaukei votes to win the election but FijiFirst needs only around 40%  – 50%.

Ratuva explained that the advantage is always on those who target a broader electoral base like multiracialism, compared to those who target a confined grouping like iTaukei, Christians or Indo-Fijains and etc. Even without Ratuva’s explanation, this is basic common sense.

But when SODELPA spokesperson, Sainiana Radrodro, boasted on TV that they will form the next government when Bainimarama was leading Ro Teimumu with 39,000 votes to 5,000, then it hit me that SODELPA have become victims of their own lies.

Skillful liars often use a bit of truth and mix it with their lies so their outcome masterpiece, although a lie sounds very true. I think SODELPA got confused in this mix-up and swap lies for truth and truth for lieswhen their lies start tosound too sweet not to be true.

What troubles them now is how to face their supporters when their lies are revealed and promises never fulfilled so they cooked up another lie saying that the election is rigged despite the electoral commission, international observers, independent analyst and even the Fiji Sun and Fiji Times pre-election polls that clearly stated otherwise.

When you lie, the worse you can do is to believe in it yourself and that is exactly what SODELPA have done....... By the way, we are really enjoying watching this so-called gone marama making a fun of herself...... She is really a good comedian......

 You can qoute Dictators all your life... you can read the bible many times over, but the bottom line is, "Who gives a hack of what you believe ?" Democracy you have been crying for has happened in Fiji and now when the result does not favor you, you complain again ?

You stand in the next election and see if you have what it takes to walk your talk.....

Bainimarama wins because he has a vision for Fiji which other previous governments and the GCC were too big headed to think about.

You can start off your 4 year election campaign now..... Bai will definitely start in 2018 so you have a 3 year advantage..... Tavulaka baraca.....

Vinaka Tau,

We have made some inroads, we now have some people in parliment who will keep this buggers honest. There will be no more unilateral decisions made and the 75% majority they want cannot be achieved unless the opposition agrees on their terms.

Time will fly, as we see democracy work within a regime that has never listened to the people and thought they can make decisions for others. Get ready, before we know it, it will be election time again.

Ro teimumu has got the ball rolling. As soon as parliment commences, they will want an investigation into the rigged election. That's what they have decided and they will pursue that democratically through proper channels.

suli bugger ga o iko, you think that your are the one with the answers, well you got it back straight in your face with the elections result, its a laugh when you tried to upload pictures of your group burning the constitution cos the people here in fiji were not swayed a bit by that stupid drama of yours and they have made their minds with who they elected, we are back in democracy now in fiji, so maybe for a thought you might wanna change dis topic heading cos it aint working, wat a waste of ideas, resources and friends that it went down the drain, so just live your life there in aussie cos we all in fiji are laughing at you guys, may be its better you all go and burn yourselfs cos wat u burnt is still being implemented in fiji...cherrio...bitter heart guys..

Kinikini,

There has been no doubt in our mind as to who would win the election. Just having an election is a victory to us. Even better than that we are now also present in parliament. The opposition will hold the govt. of the day responsible. That was the whole purpose of having this blog.

For you to be cheerleading for the govt. and not understand that process says a lot about your like. What you fail to realise is that the best part of democracy is not about winning, it is about having the ability to vote a government and its leader out. It's taken us 8 years to get here but we are patient and we have time on our side.

It was never going to be a sprint race, this is a marathon and I hope you have the tenacity to last.

yes we do have the tenacity, cos in the past you guys have been trying to rally the fijian people to rally, protest against the govt, which would have remifications on their part, so u c they are not as stupid to follow what you guys have been encouraging, the tenacity showed at the polls, all were crushed by the numbers, so all your views were a laughing stock, cos its was really worthless........so long bitter loser
