Breastfeeding in Public!!!

I was walking to the Suva bus stand after work two days ago and what caught my eye was the amount of mother's breastfeeding. It wasn't the fact that they were breastfeeding that amazed me but that it was with a feeling of such abandonment. They were not bothered by what other people were thinking nor were the public intimidated by that act. Contrasting scenario was the incident that happened with an airline in the states that removed a mother from the plane that was to take-off. She was told that it was an indecent display of body parts......wait a minute!!!!

Permalink Reply by aLiAs on February 8, 2010 at 5:45pm: @ eddie good thot but there are toilets around the area of suva like mhcc, v6, mcdonald where a mother can change diapers.....but breastfeeding like i said when a baby wants to feed a mother cannot go around looking for a private place.....so best thing to do is breastfeed baby and just cover baby's head and mum's breast with a nappy or blanket (koz all mothers go to town with an extra nappy or blanket)....

or better yet get baby's bonnet to cover both baby's head and her breast

but i think most fijian men in suva are now used to seeing mum's breastfeed baby in public places. kena qai lako nodra gero ya sa qai lai nodra yani.........lol; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by Mz Suelawe on February 10, 2010 at 4:12am: with our perving world its no surprising that an innocent act of breast feeding is banned.....i think the saying " eat to live not live to eat" should be somehow changed to "Sex to live not live to hev sex" ....it seems that nowadays all people can think about is how an object can resemble a sex toy or any sexual position.....very soon they wood banned any oval,circular objects and even changing babies nappies in public wud be forbidden.....what they should be changing is the mindset of people not the object of affection....lol....
